the air is filled with raw energy and power when the electric guitar riffs of chikinki are blasting out with rough kraut-electroclash-rock. as they represent some cutting edge of synthesizer rock, the lyrics are excellent in such a way that even a critic of neo-indie-pop (which chikinki are not,of course, it’s just that the uninformed will classify it as such) will stop to listen and reconsider. so if you’re into never-ending tours, sunglasses at night and going mental on stage then these boys are just about to become your most favorite band.

chikinki - tomboy remixes
chikinki’s tomboy remixes featuring two bass-driven, straight electro-reworks of the assassinator 13 track. tomas barfod aka tomboy takes creates his very own club versions of the chikinki classics. handclaps involved!

chikinki - live at o2 music flash
on january 31th 2006 chikinki, maximilian hecker, jahcoozi, richard davis and litwinenko performed at the free o2/kitty-yo music flash night at ostbahnhof, berlin. these are the powerful livetracks recorded at chikinkis show.

chikinki - assassinator 13 remixes
it’s a multi faceted genre hopping schizophrenic baby, armed with jutting guitars and minimal electronics, the kind of discordant delivery as to make you swear it’s the melodies melting within and not you that causing your mind to go wandering. right classy stuff remixed by anthony rother and ruede hagelstein and it’s fucking great!

chikinki - ether radio remixes
a plucky but large ditty with slightly hoarse melodic output featuring remixes by jan driver & siriusmo, ed laliq and serge santiago. marvellous!

chikinki - lick your ticket
the air is filled with raw energy and power when the electric guitar riffs of chikinki are blasting out. this album is absolutely awesome, containing elements of rock and electro, yet with such rhythm that people will ignore this fact and dance simply because of the pure, unadulterated and inexplicably universal sharp, staccato riffs from the guitars and the mesmeric electro backround sound. if you enjoy fantastic, specialised and, quite frankly, quirky music, then this is certainly a must have.

chikinki - experiment with mother
the long gone uk-only debut incl. early versions of ‘lick your tickets’ hits. the real strength of ‘experiment with mother’ is that it retains a claustrophobic, seedy edge whilist many trip-hop acts sound like mere portishead copyists. there are also weird moments of beautifully warped melody which stand out notably on ‘lucky’ and ‘bombs’. all the evidence points to them being more than just another band from bristol.
